At Big Horn Outfitters, we offer fully guided archery and rifle elk hunts in Wyoming hunt areas 34, 35, 36 and 45. All of these areas are in our Special Use Outfitting permit on the Big Horn National Forest, we offer private land hunts as well. Whether you prefer a low-elevation, private land hunt or a back country in the beautiful Wyoming wilderness, Big Horn Outfitters has a hunt for you. Most of our elk hunts involve using a 4WD vehicle or ATV to access the area and then we begin hiking. We also utilize horses to access more remote areas when necessary. No matter how many Wyoming elk preference points you have, we have areas where you can be guaranteed an elk license.
Archery Elk Hunts
There are few things that rival the excitement of hunting elk during the month of September. The bugle is a sound you’ll remember for the rest of your life. We are fortunate to have access to some of the best archery elk hunting in the state of Wyoming. Archery elk hunts begin around the second week of September and go through the end of the month. There isn’t a better archery hunt in North America than hunting rutting elk. We typically experience very high rates of opportunity, in the fall of 2017, 90% of our archery elk hunters had opportunities. At Big Horn Outfitters, we take pride in being hardcore bowhunters ourselves and we have the staff, skills and hunting ground to get the job done. Archery elk hunts are 6 day hunts and can be extended for an additional daily fee.
Rifle Elk Hunts
We offer both bull elk and cow elk rifle hunts in multiple areas, both of these hunts have private land and public land opportunities. Bull elk hunts are 5 days and cow elk are 4, but these hunts can be tailored to fit your individual needs. We hunt both limited quota and general license areas. Rifle elk hunts involve lots of glassing followed by a spot and stalk style approach hunt to get within range.
